In the middle part of the book of
Job, Job and his friends all speak of how big God is. Consider what they say of God:
Chapter
9 He is wise in heart and mighty
in strength—who has hardened himself against him, and succeeded? —he who
removes mountains, and they know it not, when he overturns them in his anger,
who shakes the earth out of its place, and its pillars tremble; who commands
the sun, and it does not rise; who seals up the stars; who alone stretched out
the heavens and trampled the waves of the sea; who made the Bear and Orion, he
Pleiades and the chambers of the south; who does great things beyond searching
out, and marvelous things beyond number. Behold, he passes by me, and I see him
not; he moves on, but I do not perceive him
Chapter
12 With God are wisdom and might;
he has counsel and understanding. If he tears down, none can rebuild; if he
shuts a man in, none can open. If he withholds the waters, they dry up; if he
sends them out, they overwhelm the land. With him are strength and sound
wisdom; the deceived and the deceiver are his. He leads counselors away
stripped, and judges he makes fools. He looses the bonds of kings and binds a
waistcloth on their hips. He leads priests away stripped and overthrows the
mighty. He deprives of speech those who are trusted and takes away the
discernment of the elders. He pours contempt on princes and loosens the belt of
the strong. He uncovers the deeps out of darkness and brings deep darkness to
light. He makes nations great, and he destroys them; he enlarges nations, and
leads them away. He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of
the earth and makes them wander in a trackless waste. They grope in the dark
without light, and he makes them stagger like a drunken man
Chpater19
For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
Chapter
25 Dominion and fear are with God;
he makes peace in his high heaven. Is there any number to his armies? Upon whom
does his light not arise
It is said of God: He redeems, He
accepts, He restores, He raises up, He judges, He punishes, He listens, He
gives life, He takes life, He offers hope.
That is a GREAT BIG GOD!!
